Carriere was honored with an Honorary Oscar(r) from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his screenwriting contributions for “Heureux Anniversaire” and “That Obscure Object of Desire,” both live action short films directed by Luis Bunuel. Additionally, two more nominations came his way thanks to working alongside Pierre Etaix, Volker Schlondorff, and Jean-Luc Godard among many other directors.
He currently holds the Assistant Professional position in French and Italian at Texas A & M International University, specializing in 19th and 20th century French literature and culture.
