Adam Choplick Is a Right-Handed Reliever For the Texas Rangers
As soon as the Rangers promoted Ricardo Rodriguez from Class A Down East to Frisco, it was evident they had acquired an exciting relief prospect. What wasn’t as evident was how calm-mannered Adam Choplick stumbled into becoming Wood Ducks’ next potential save opportunity.
Choplick hails from Denton and played at Denton Ryan before attending Oklahoma for college. A two-time Tommy John recipient, he has yet to pitch at a major league level.
Choplick was selected in the 14th round of the 2015 MLB draft out of University of Oklahoma and has already experienced great success professionaly, having spent time playing in both Arizona Fall League and Double-A Frisco.
Choplick is an exciting lefty prospect with an excellent mid-90s fastball and solid slider who could become an invaluable relief option in fantasy baseball leagues. He should be kept on your roster in all dynasty formats for future consideration.
Choplick, acquired from Milwaukee Milkmen prior to this season, currently owns a 2.15 ERA in 20 innings with the Dogs and pitched in both Mexican Pacific Winter League for Sultanes de Monterrey and Aguilas de Mexicali before earning recognition as American Association Pitcher of Week for three outings.
Adam Choplick is a left-handed reliever who has undergone two Tommy John surgeries. Born and raised in Denton, he began playing basketball at Denton Ryan High School before attending the University of Oklahoma before eventually moving to Frisco with his German wife.
Choplick’s fastball has been consistently in the mid-90s and his slider is an effective weapon against batters. Additionally, his athleticism allows him to leverage his height when facing batters.
Choplick has yet to allow a baserunner in three appearances this year and has struck out three batters, suggesting he could be headed toward major-league action this season. Choplick is on the Rangers radar screen; they want to see how he performs against more advanced hitters in Arizona Fall League play.
Adam Choplick is estimated to be worth an estimated net worth of $5 Million. Originally hailing from Denton, Texas and Ryan High School before attending and playing basketball at Oklahoma, Choplick now resides with his German-born wife Kim (rower) as they raise three children together in Denton and surrounding communities. Choplick has made numerous friends throughout his professional baseball career who enjoy watching him throw his impressive left-handed fastball – topping out at 98 mph! In addition, Choplick is part of Tommy John Club having undergone two surgeries himself!
