Early Life and Education
Adam Shilling was born and raised in London. As an aspiring entrepreneur, he soon found himself selling papers for money from an early age. Soon enough he secured full-time employment at a silk screen printer on Wardour Street, Soho.
He was able to demonstrate his entrepreneurial skills by using the papers he sold to buy over 100 pounds worth of goods, such as a record player and bicycle, including record player records. This period became one of his most formative in life.
Shilling has spent decades working in the YMCA industry. First as senior manager for impact strategies at the YMCA of the USA in Chicago and later as CEO of a $35 million YMCA in Grand Rapids. He brings extensive knowledge from both positions to Buckeye Valley YMCA.
Professional Career
Adam Shilling has an extensive career in pharmaceutical development spanning all phases of clinical and nonclinical drug development. Most recently, he served as executive director of global regulatory affairs at Incyte Corporation where he oversaw NDA submissions and open INDs related to oncology; prior to that he played a pivotal role in discovering and creating Olumiant, which won FDA approval as the first antirheumatoid arthritis (AR) medication.
As CEO of the Buckeye Valley Family YMCA, he will be charged with leading over 300 staff members and transforming it into an innovative community leader known for service and innovation. His recent experience at a large association in Grand Rapids, Michigan provides invaluable preparation for his task.
Achievement and Honors
Shilling was recognized for his goalkeeping prowess throughout his collegiate career, winning several accolades such as Co-MVP Award in NCAA Tournament and MPSF Player of Week Award. Furthermore, he earned Marks Scholar Status and joined the U.S. Junior National Team.
Today, Shilling serves patients recovering from trauma by developing innovative ways to keep up their rehabilitation exercises even when they cannot physically be present. While this may present unique challenges, Shilling has managed to do it with flair; not to mention his dual roles of parent to two sons and strong Christian faith in marriage with wife. Most recently he was chosen as CEO for Buckeye Valley Family YMCA in Ohio!

Adam Shilling has enjoyed an exceptional career as a Physical Therapist at Evolve Integrated Wellness and Physical Therapy PC in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
He has over two decades of experience across all phases of development. Prior to joining Acer Biopharma, he held key roles at Incyte and Wyeth where he oversaw early clinical development, regulatory submissions and NDA approvals.
Adam Shilling and Amy Rodriguez have two wonderful children together – Ryan and Luke. Both are devout Christians who enjoy traveling the world together. Amy Rodriguez plays soccer for Utah Royals FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), garnering various honors and achievements in her field. Adam Shilling himself is an accomplished athlete playing water polo for Team United States.
