Atlanta Braves Jackie Robinson Jersey

Atlanta Braves Celebrate Jackie Robinson’s 40th Anniversary

Despite a relatively slow start, the Atlanta Braves have come of age and are playing with a vengeance. The team has made the playoffs in three straight seasons and has made some impressive runs in the divisional standings. This year, the Braves are set to make their World Series debut. This is not a bad thing given the talent on display in Atlanta.

The Braves are known for their colorful jerseys, but if you are looking for something a little more subdued, you might want to consider their navy blue XL version. This jersey is a beautiful color and features a Jackie Robinson 40th Anniversary Celebration Commemorative Patch on the sleeve. It measures 25 1/2″ x 32 1/2″. It also features a team branded patch on the lower rear and an alternate sleeve with a World Series patch. It’s a worthy addition to your collection.

As part of the celebration, the Braves hosted the 4th annual Jackie Robinson Invitational. This competition, which featured 16 teams ranging in age from five to twelve, was a great way to show off their softball wares while promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie among the local brethren. The event was kicked off with a welcome ceremony in front of John Smoltz field. In attendance were former Major League players, members of the Atlanta media and representatives from Delta Air Lines and the city of Atlanta. The tournament was not without its own set of challenges, including a large thunderstorm that delayed its kickoff time by several hours.

In addition to the tournament, the Braves also hosted a number of other events relating to the game. The Atlanta Stars Foundation held an awards ceremony to honor two players in the club’s system who excelled in the field and were able to overcome the odds in a tough competition. In addition, the club awarded a prize to the Jackie Robinson Boys and Girls Club of Cairo-Grady County.

The Braves were also on hand to educate baseball and softball enthusiasts on the proper way to celebrate the sport’s milestones. As part of this, the team presented a framed tidbit of trivia to the winner of the inaugural “A Tribute to Jackie Robinson” tournament. This was the largest prize of the day and a fitting tribute to the late great Jackie Robinson.

There were plenty of other activities to choose from including a pregame dinner with the team’s top executives, a visit to the clubhouse for a private tour, and the opportunity to attend an exclusive press conference. The best part about the day was the chance to see firsthand the latest in game day apparel and equipment, including new batting helmets, batting gloves, and a new game ball. The day also featured a celebration of Jackie Robinson’s legacy, including a number of odes to the man, and an assortment of tchotchkes from a variety of local vendors. In addition, a team of Braves volunteers staffed the concession stands for hours after the game.
