Early Life and Education
Cuvelier hails from Cresco, Iowa where he earned National Honor Society membership and Silver Cord awards for service. At Drake University, he completed his bachelor’s degree in finance investments and real estate as well as studies in business law and coaching.
Surf en Buch, founded in 2007 in Arcachon and Le Teich, has quickly become the go-to surfing school in the Bassin d’Arcachon (Arcachon, La Teste de Buch, Gujan Mestras and Biscarrosse). Furthermore, it also offers lessons at its branches located nearby in Arcachon and Le Teich.
Ann Brashares, author of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” and her husband Jacob Collins sold their townhouse. Guillaume and Andrea Rizzo Cuvelier of Svedka created by them has sold their co-op at 30 East 71st Street which boasts four bedrooms, four and one half bathrooms and a library – two significant sellers on this Upper East Side street.
Since 2007, Benjamin has worked as an illustrator on editorial and commercial projects across France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the US. In 2010, he collaborated with Carole Bonnet to adapt her novels for young readers (L’Union fait la Force>>, Qui S’Y Frotte S’y Pique>> and Les Murs Ont Des Oeilles).
He has also provided artwork for world-renowned artist Franco Dragone’s Cirkafrika>> circus show, where he designed sets, accessories and costumes.
Since 2013, Jonathan Greenberg has been working regularly with Vincent Engel, author, on his series for M… en Belgique magazine. Most recently, they launched Three Hearts Home; an intimate look at two siblings coming together after growing up apart; which has received great acclaim since its premiere and was translated to English by Jonathan Greenberg.
Achievement and Honors
Linebacker Cuvelier led his team in tackles this year with 90, as well as tallying six tackles for loss and forcing one fumble. He earned Second Team All-MVFC honors. Cuvelier currently boasts a 3.62 cumulative GPA at UNI and studies business financial investments and real estate.
Beyond academics, he is very involved with his community. He volunteers his time at Pines of Peace Comfort Care Home for terminally-ill patients – believing that giving back to one’s community is key to true success.
Benjamin Cuvelier’s passion for painting and drawing has seen him published extensively in European young magazines, especially young mags aimed at children. Specializing in comic strip genre, his artwork has particularly earned the admiration of Herge.
He worked as a professional artist in both Paris and New York before moving to the US. His works have been displayed at galleries and museums in both countries as well as Japan, Germany, China and other international locales.
He is a member of the Katy Texas Stake and serves in multiple capacities within that ward: high councilor, bishopric member and mission president. With five children to his credit; Wendi as his wife; Guillam Vigne as his father and Adrienne Cuvelier (whose last name derives from cuvier meaning tub or cask); his last name derived from this source (cuvier means tub or cask).
After three years as President and CEO of Def Jam Recordings – where he nurtured international superstars Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Kanye West’s careers – Cuvelier joined Live Nation to form Roc Nation and has since added author to his impressive resume with “DECODED”. Additionally he founded Empatico and Equilibra Partners Management along with Chairman/CEO Maiyet Wines as well as co-founding KIND Snacks while still living in New York he is also Board Members for Groupon and Crisp Board Memberships while remaining based.
