Daniel Braster, of New York (NY), is an up-and-coming high school basketball player at six foot eight (2m02 / 6’8) who currently plays for Cushing Academy Penguins as an agile small forward.
Jacari Lane converted two three-point plays in the last 11 seconds to lift North Alabama past Hampton 75-74 on Tuesday night. Daniel Braster blocked the final shot as well.
Early Life and Education
Daniel Braster hails from New York and stands six feet eight inches (2m02 / 6-8). Recently he concluded his high school career as a star for Cushing Academy’s men’s team – playing on some of the biggest stages such as City of Palms Classic and Spalding HoopHall Classic tournaments.
As a sophomore at Arizona, he earned a scholarship and was honored as Big Sky Conference player of the year.
He is the son of Julia and Olaf Braster and has two brothers: Sven Friedrich Braster and Paul Herbert Braster.
Dan Braster is an engineer, marketer and sales person dedicated to using technology to create an inclusively abundant future. Currently he works at MistyWest Engineering Research Lab specializing in product development issues that impact on high impact issues; Dan specializes in overseeing complex innovation projects while bringing revolutionary ideas into market.
As an attorney and founding partner of Naylor & Braster Attorneys at Law in Las Vegas, he has represented clients in a range of business conflicts such as high-stakes partnership disputes and property and construction issues. He has been featured in multiple legal publications such as Nevada Business magazine’s Legal Elite list as well as speaking at their annual conference and seminars of the ABA Business Law Section.

Since joining Cushing Academy, Braster has participated in multiple high school hoops showcases such as the City of Palms Classic, Spalding HoopHall Classic and SNY Invitational tournaments. Additionally, he has earned several prestigious academic awards for his exemplary academic performances within classroom settings.
Recently, he was honored with selection to 2021 Best Lawyers in America(c), recognized for his expertise in appellate practice and commercial litigation. Additionally, he has been acknowledged in multiple legal programs such as Super Lawyers, Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite program and Vegas Inc’s Women 2 Watch program.
After two seasons at Lipscomb University of Nashville in Tennessee and their ASUN Conference rivalry, he transferred to UNA.
Dan Braster of Cushing Academy’s unsigned 6-foot-8 wing position has spent much of the last year performing on some of the biggest high school basketball stages available, such as City of Palms Classic, Spalding HoopHall Tournament and SNY Invitational. His match-up threat and ball handling skills make him a threat against opposing defenses while his passing and ball handling skills stand out – on November 8th alone, 2022 for North Alabama Lions NCAA game scored 17 points while grabbing five rebounds – his efficiency score reached 20.
