Daniel Hilliard was an attentive husband, father, brother and friend who found great enjoyment in home renovation projects, camping trips and classic rock music. He leaves behind his wife, three daughters and four grandchildren to remember him fondly.
Formerly, he served as assistant city manager of Upper Arlington, Ohio where he oversaw the Community Development Department including Engineering and Transportation & Mobility divisions.
Early Life and Education
The Foundation for Child Development recently hosted an online event to recognize and celebrate Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III, an exceptional scholar who revolutionized education and child development through his groundbreaking research on child assessment, teaching pedagogy, curriculum design, African culture, and youth empowerment. Dr. Hilliard’s lasting contributions are still having an enormous influence on early childhood education scholarship as well as professional practice today. Dr. Browne served as college/university administrator and professor in departments of psychology & counseling before passing away earlier this month.
Personal Life
Daniel Hilliard was an outstanding father, grandfather, brother, son, husband, and friend who enjoyed working on projects around the house, camping, fishing and listening to classic rock music. He is survived by his wife Lori; three daughters Jasmine Rounds (Hank), Megan Harral of El Sobrante California and Alexis Hilliard from Sage Arkansas; three grandsons Aiden Austin Ryker Rounds as well as many relatives and friends.
Daniel Hilliard has extensive experience practicing law in Alaska and Utah. Specializing in personal injury and commercial claims litigation as well as certified mediation, Daniel currently resides in Cache Valley.

Hyliard has been with Jackson Public Schools (JPS) for 18 years, serving as Middle School assistant principal/athletic director, class principal, Principal at Parkside High School and Chairman of Latino Advisory Committee.
Hyliard and his wife live in Columbia School District with two children. He enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his family; he is an avid Philadelphia Eagles supporter as well as traveling and sharing his passion for food with them.
