Krizek contends that her right to free speech is protected under the First Amendment and that the school’s decision not to renew her contract for next year was arbitrari and capricious. Additionally, she states that her conversation with Dean on April 14, 1988 was casual; she did not realize he was questioning about ‘About Last Night. She denies harassing the student whose mother filed the complaint against her.
Professional Career
Kris Krizek spent much of his 35-year tenure at Towson University working in the athletic media relations office promoting Tiger student-athletes locally, regionally and nationally. While doing this he gained proficiency in statistics keeping, contributing greatly to its evolution into computerized stats for college sports. Furthermore, for 27 years he served on CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee.
Since entering the investment world, he has funded over 120 emerging biotechnology companies across early and late venture rounds. Currently serving as portfolio manager at Surveyor Capital – a Citadel company – his investments focus on biotech, med-tech and diagnostic companies. Residing in Baltimore with his two children.
Achievement and Honors
While at New Mexico Tech, Krizek was actively engaged in numerous research projects, internships, volunteer services and extracurricular activities – such as working on frog research in the psychology lab; raising funds for Casa Maria; serving on Tau Beta Pi and Phi Theta Kappa committees as an officer -.
Krizek first achieved fame in 1989 after joining heavy metal band Citron. When lead singer Dan Horyna left in February 1987, Krizek became her voice and the album Andel na uteku went Gold, leading them on extensive tours across Europe as well as recording television appearances. They went on to record and tour extensively as they recorded and released Kridla – Zlaty bonus; an extended release of their first album featuring bonus tracks.
Personal Life
Citron sought Krizek out after vocalist Stanislav Hranicky was injured in a car accident, turning to him for assistance and helping the group release one album before leaving to form his own group Damiens for some time. When returning to Citron in 2005 and recording Andel na Uteku which went gold for sales of over 25.000 copies.
In 1988, Mrs. Krizek showed her students the movie About Last Night during a class related to Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. Due to three reasons cited by her school – such as using R-rated materials unrelated to curriculum; not responding fully and in detail to parent’s complaint about film; and failing to discuss with student whose mother made complaint about film – Mrs. Krizek was let go from teaching. Mr. Krizek currently lectures at Al-Mustafa International University of Qom in Iran as well as Universitat Bayeruth in Germany.
