David Burstyn was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Boston University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.
He practiced law for several years, specializing in plaintiff personal injury law, wrongful death law, products liability law and medical malpractice cases.
He worked as a criminal trial lawyer, representing clients in both State and Federal courts. Admitted to the bar in 1976, he now operates his own law firm out of Miami, Florida.
