David Vigil is an eccentric man who has embraced changes in his life. He lives in an art studio on Canyon Road.

His hair is dyed bright red and he usually wears sunglasses. He is a busker who sometimes leaves his piano in downtown Santa Fe.

Early Life and Education

David Vigil was born on March 13th, 1956 in Denver. He is the son of Samuel and Betty Vigil. He is also the brother of Celeste and Denise Vigil. He is survived by his family and friends.

He was a student at Pueblo County High School and currently works for the Pueblo Depot Activity. He is also running for a seat on the District 70 school board.

He has been involved with several different organizations, including the Taos High School Alumni Association and the Taos Country Club. He has also been a volunteer firefighter and police officer. He is a dedicated person and will be missed by many. He is also a great friend and has been a source of encouragement for many people.

Professional Career

David Vigil has worked as a farmer, soldier, community organizer and teacher. He also is a management consultant, entrepreneur and political candidate.

As an AVP and Dean of Students at CSUF, he leads highly visible and significant departments within the Division of Student Affairs. He oversees Counseling & Psychological Services, Disability Support Services, the Health Center and Title IX.

He is an expert in student-centered programs and initiatives that foster a healthy Titan Experience. He is passionate about building a strong campus environment where all Titans feel welcome and empowered to reach their full potential.

Achievements and Honors

David vigil was widely recognized for his accomplishments and leadership in higher education. He served as president of Westmont College (1976-2001) and was Chancellor of the University of California at Santa Barbara (2003-2007).

His work also included leading a Christian high school in Santa Barbara, serving on numerous boards of local agencies, and being a member of many national and regional organizations. He also received many awards for his advocacy for promoting drug-free youth.

The Vigil Honor is the highest mark of distinction and recognition granted by the Order of the Arrow. It is awarded to those Arrowmen who, by reason of outstanding service and personal effort, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their office to Lodge, Council or Scouting community.

Personal Life

David Vigil’s personal life was a fusion of family, adventure and faith. He spent a lot of time touring and traveling with his wife Rebecca and their two children (who were home schooled).

The adventures, the fun, the fresh air and the life experiences inspired a lot of music that was later recorded on his albums. Those years were among the most joyful of his career.

After his father passed away, he composed several songs that reflect a coming to grips with the loss of his father and an inability to bridge the gap between him and his dad before his death. This resulted in the album Overcome, released in 2005. It is a tribute to his dad’s life and a musical testimony to relying on God’s sovereignty during difficult times.
