Fiona Ma Christmas Card

A first for a female, Fiona Ma was first elected to the California State Treasurer’s office in January of this year. She topped out the competition in the 2022 elections. She is one of the most influential women in California politics, and a champion of the liberal arts. A former politician, Ma was a speaker-pro tempore in the California State Assembly from 2006 to 2012. She also served in San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors from 2002 to 2006. Ma has a dog named Pepper and recently adopted a chihuahua named Nika from the city’s Animal Care and Control department. The two have been a model of goodwill since their adoption. A philanthropist by all accounts, Ma has made numerous charitable contributions to numerous organizations including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Golden Gate Medical Foundation and many more. Ma is a staunch advocate of gay marriage, and was one of the first politicians to support the marriage of gay men and lesbians. Ma has also played her hand in promoting trade between the Golden State and Asia. She has led several legislative delegations to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Israel. Ma is also a frequent speaker at regional and international conferences promoting US interests.
