Early Life and Education
Early years in a child’s life can have an immense effect on their development and future prospects. It is during this period that billions of connections are formed in their brain, setting the stage for learning and behavior that are affected by various factors such as physical, emotional, and social experiences.
In the United States, early childhood education (ECE) refers to a range of programs designed to help children develop cognitive and social abilities during their preschool years. Many are provided by public institutions while others are managed privately by non-profit organizations.
Though ECE is still relatively new, research indicates it to be effective for supporting a child’s overall development. Not only does it provide essential foundations for health and wellbeing, but ECE also plays an integral role in student success at school.
