Early Life and Education
At George Nursery, we understand how essential early years are for a child’s future success. That is why we provide a secure, nurturing and caring atmosphere for children aged 2-5 to learn and develop with our experienced team of qualified early years professionals.
At our school, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum ‘Development Matters’ which fosters skills, knowledge and attitudes in seven learning areas: communication/language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy/mathematics/understanding the world as well as expressive arts/design.
English is the primary focus of teaching in both Pre-Nursery and Nursery classes, with an emphasis on developing a wide range of vocabulary and everyday phrases. Furthermore, our curriculum promotes social skills and self-discipline through games, songs and activities.
George and Lynda founded Millcreek Gardens in Ostrander, Ohio – only a short drive from where they grew up and attended school. With an extensive selection of trees and shrubs that range in both variety and size, area landscape designers rely on them for healthy specimens of hundreds of varieties every week of the year.
George and Cathy do the majority of the growing, but they also employ an extensive team of employees to help run the business. These staff members range from seasonal workers to long-term professionals; some have worked alongside George for decades.
