McElroy married Nancy Elizabeth “Betty” McCrocklin (also born McElroy). Together they had one child. McElroy is survived by his wife and five siblings; he was later buried at cemetery place. Later he married Sallie Sims (also born McElroy). Together they had six children before he passed away on month day at age 93 at his death place, Texas.
