Early Life and Education
Doolin credits his professors at Gonzaga with providing him with a solid academic foundation, which has proved instrumental to his success. Helen Free’s AP English class encouraged him to express himself through writing while Mark Howell’s calculus class made math accessible and enjoyable for him.
He has worked extensively with New York Theatre Workshop, on productions including Peter and the Starcatcher; Tony Kushner’s Homebody/Kabul and Marie Antoinette; Caryl Churchill’s Far Away and Love and Information; as well as Ivo von Hove’s Hedda Gabler. Other NYC work includes Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About Walt Disney’s Death; as well as Off Broadway shows, such as The Iceman Cometh (Obie Award and Drama Desk Nomination) and Tamburlaine the Great (Obie Award and Drama Desk nomination).
Jack has served as casting director for Freeman Studio’s actor series ACTORS ALOUD since 2012. These panel discussions offer actors invaluable advice about their careers and work life.

He has cast for numerous major film projects. In 2018, in collaboration with actress Cherry Jones, he produced “Actors Aloud,” a free public event featuring leading actors discussing their careers and the industry – it was open and free for everyone who attended! Currently he serves as casting director at New York Theatre Workshop.

Doolin credits Gonzaga University with giving him the courage and faith to follow his dream. In particular, Helen Free’s Advanced Placement English class and Mark Howell’s AP calculus course helped him do just that.
He has appeared in multiple film and television projects, such as Universal/Blumhouse movie Lost Girls and season one of Apple TV+ series Home Before Dark. Additionally, he has made guest appearances on many other shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Billions, House of Cards (Freddie Eisen in particular), Instinct, Plot Against America City On A Hill New Amsterdam as a regular.
Thomas has collaborated extensively with New York Theatre Workshop, including Blasted, Fetch Clay/Make Man, Tony Kushner’s Homebody/Kabul, Caryl Churchill’s Far Away, two notable productions of Uncle Vanya (Andre Gregory’s and Reed Birney’s). Personal Life
Jack Doolin was one of the members of the Wild Bunch who were wounded during a gunfight with Sheriff Henry Starr’s posse near Cimarron, Oklahoma in June 1893. They had been hired to hold up Santa Fe train at Cimarron when Doolin shot and killed Starr and two deputies during a robbery attempt he conducted during which time.
