Lars von Trier’s film “The House That Jack Built” depicts a scene wherein a serial killer uses pliers to cut off a duckling’s leg with the intent of killing. PETA has come out in support of the director, saying he used movie magic rather than harming any real animals in order to create this depiction of violence.
Early Life and Education
Jack spent much of his youth hunting skillfully and dedicated much time and energy to wildlife conservation. Additionally, he found an appreciation for art through painting oil portraits with great success.
He employed his talents to supplement his family’s income and to become a guide for hunters coming in from Northern Ontario. Even so, a hooker offered to rape him; an offer which seemed too farfetched even then.
In 1909, he built a duck trap and banded his first bird with an aluminum tag bearing his address information. Trapping and tagging birds helped him understand their migration patterns; his trapping and tagging of wood ducks helped determine their migratory paths; these ducks are resident in marshes, brushy swamps, beaver ponds, woodland streams and feed on berries seeds, high-protein animal foods (mollusks and insects).

He is an avid supporter of the New York Yankees, calling games for their Triple-A affiliate Columbus Red Birds on WHEC radio, while also broadcasting University of Ohio basketball and football games.
