Early Life and Education
As a child, Jack had many obstacles to face: physical illness, competition from his older brother and an unhelpfully lazy disposition. Yet through hard work, imagination and humor he was ultimately successful.
Rosemary ran a family farm where Jack spent summers working alongside his siblings. While working there he became fascinated with horses and enjoyed riding them with Rosemary.
After graduating high school, Jack worked briefly for a merchant marine. When America entered World War II, he was drafted into various branches of military. While in uniform he received a football scholarship to New York University. Thereafter, he found employment at Educational Pictures as film editor under Jules White – later becoming one of America’s foremost directors and producers.
Professional Career
Jack has worked diligently to establish himself in the world of financial investments. With an economics degree under his belt and currently employed as both a Discretionary Portfolio Manager and Associate Investment Advisor at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management.
His time in the OHL taught him invaluable lessons about hard work and determination; now, he uses these principles to assist others with reaching their career goals.

Personal Life
Jack came from a seafarer family, yet preferred pursuing art rather than merchant mariner life. Joining the United States Maritime Service in 1942 as an artist for their magazine and training films was his path forward.
At the start of his acting career, he appeared in television theater shows such as Alcoa Presents, US Steel Hour and Kraft Suspense Theatre; these one-hour, three-act plays provided an opportunity for newcomers to audition as actors.
He portrayed Brick Pollitt in Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which ran for 694 performances and garnered him his famed Pulitzer. Additionally, he guest-starred on episodic television shows such as Bonanza, Route 66 and 12 O’Clock High; often playing troubled or criminal characters.
