John Gac – The Killer Clown
John Wayne Gacy, known as the Killer Clown, was one of the most ruthless serial killers in American history. He murdered at least 33 young males and buried most of them under his house.
The serial killer was found guilty of all 33 murders and was sentenced to 12 death sentences and 21 natural life terms. He was eventually executed by lethal injection in 1994.
Early Life and Education
John Gacy grew up in an Irish middle-class family. His father was a harsh disciplinarian and an abusive alcoholic.
In the first part of his life, he was molested by a family friend who would take him on long rides and fondle him. He also suffered blackouts from a blood clot in his brain.
He was abused by his father and called “dumb and stupid.” He was often ridiculed by his classmates and was considered a “sissy” and a “queer.”
After graduating from high school, Gacy got a job as a salesman for a shoe company in Springfeild, Illinois. He met a woman named Marlynn Myers at the job and married her in 1964.
Professional Career
As a self-taught businessman, John was always up for a challenge. He honed his skills in customer service and marketing, as well as learning how to navigate the political maze that is state government.
Throughout his career, he landed in a number of high profile positions at companies including ADP, TJX and General Electric. He also authored several papers on the subject of employee relations.
He also branched out into business development and is currently the CFO at GAC Media, which is a leading provider of family-friendly content across three platforms. His mission is to make the company a household name by delivering the best family-friendly entertainment on and off screen. The aforementioned company is also on the cutting edge of the digital space, where it is implementing artificial intelligence into its operations, and introducing new products such as the GAC Smart TV.
Achievements and Honors
John Gacy was a successful building contractor, political leader and a popular Jaycees civic club member. He married twice, divorced and raised two children.
He was also a serial killer who sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least thirty victims in the 1970s. His crimes were gruesome and horrifying but often went unsolved.
In addition to the obvious award winner, he was the recipient of several other accolades and honors. One is a National Water Research Institute Clarke Prize, which is considered to be one of the world’s top honors in water research. The other is the Kimberly-Clark Bright Futures Scholarship, which provides $900,000 to 45 students from North America. This prestigious scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who exhibit excellence in academics, leadership, and community service.
Personal Life

He often cruised Chicago’s downtown gay bars and Greyhound bus stations for victims to bring home for sex. The victims were often taken to Gacy’s ranch-style house, dressed in disguises and drugged.
He disposed of most of his victims by burying them in the crawl space of his house or disposing of them in the nearby Des Plaines River. His murders occurred largely between 1976 and 1978, the so-called “cruising years” that followed his divorce from his wife Carole.
