John Petoskey – A Quiet But Powerful Force in the Lives of Those He Loved
John Petoskey, a 2020 University of Michigan graduate with degrees in both law and environmental policy and planning, is an attorney specializing in water resources management and conservation. He has recently participated in briefing and legal research for three separate appeals against Enbridge Energy LP’s Line 3 oil pipeline project.
He is also working on a bill that would create a wilderness area in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. When not working, he enjoys traveling Up North and watching sports.
Early Life and Education
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) are critical elements in child development. Studies have indicated that early stimulation can be a powerful tool for compensating for disadvantages, mitigating or preventing disabilities, improving cognitive abilities, and preparing kids for school.
ECEC programs are provided by a range of organizations, including public, private and not-for-profit providers. Their primary mission is to guarantee that children who need extra support receive it.
Typically, children’s first exposure to Early Childhood Education (ECE) occurs in preschool when they join a program that provides care and education. This may include health screenings, nutrition education, social service support and other services designed to promote physical, social emotional and cognitive development of young children.
Petoskey, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan with dual degrees in law and environmental policy, is not only an accomplished lawyer but also an active environmentalist. He’s part of the statewide Climate Justice Brain Trust and was appointed to Michigan Advisory Council on Environmental Justice while still in school.
He has a gift for finding ways to assist people in reaching their objectives. That includes helping people make better financial decisions, reduce stress and enhance quality of life.
Petoskey has a varied professional background, as well as interests in sports, music and travel. He enjoyed playing golf in Hawaii, watching the Olympics with his family, camping and hiking with them; plus he loves spending time in the kitchen cooking meals for his wife and their two sons.
