John Schira

John Schira is a physician assistant from Olympia, Washington and registered to vote in Lucas County.

Professional Career

John Schira began his professional hockey career in the National Hockey League. He was born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan but now resides in Saskatoon when not playing overseas. From 1994 until 2006 he was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He was a member of Hockey Canada’s team that competed at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, one of few hockey players able to represent Canada after the NHL banned its players from attending.

He currently serves as the Foundation’s database manager and business analyst, responsible for database management and analysis, gift processing and reporting. He joined the Foundation in March 2022 and enjoys traveling with his family – both domestically and abroad – to explore new places both domestically and abroad.
