John Schmidt

John schmit is a lawyer and former Associate Attorney General. He served under President Bill Clinton and was responsible for overseeing the Civil, Antitrust, Environmental and Tax Divisions of the Justice Department.

He also served as Ambassador and Chief United States Negotiator in the Uruguay Round of world trade talks under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. He is now a partner at the law firm Mayer Brown.

Early Life and Education

John Schmidt grew up on a military base in the Panama Canal Zone (CZ) where he was influenced by the security forces that safeguarded the area. He remembers a time when the military presence was more lax than it is today.

He later served in the Army ROTC during high school and then joined the United States Air Force. As with any military career, he relocated frequently.

After completing his active duty, he was transferred to Mather AFB in California. There he became a training specialist. He also worked as a film librarian in the Base Education office focusing on audio and visual training films.

John is a Chartered Financial Planner and CPA who works with clients in the areas of accounting, retirement planning, wealth management and investment management. He is also an expert in estate and trust formation and administration, asset protection, tax and succession planning.

He has worked as a financial advisor since 1977 and has over 40 years of experience. He focuses on helping individuals and small businesses plan for their financial futures.

After graduating from Eastern Kentucky University, he became a Certified Public Accountant. He established his own practice, John P. Schmidt CPA, in 1995 and has a securities license.

Achievements and Honors

John schmit has made a number of achievements and received a lot of honors throughout his career. One of the most significant is his Nobel Prize for physics.

He shares the award with American physicist Saul Perlmutter and Australian astronomer Adam Riess, for their discovery of dark energy.
