John Yager is a neuropathologist who practices in Mobile, Alabama. He specializes in neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
The docuseries chronicles the life of Yager, who was acquitted in 1992 on all charges related to kidnapping and cruelty to children. But archival footage shows her at her worst, aggressively questioning a young boy who allegedly suffered abuse.
Early Life and Education
Yeager grew up on the family farm two miles north of Deer Trail, Colo. He graduated from Deer Trail High School in 1942.
He married Helen Shouse Yager in 1944 and moved to Fort Morgan, where he was self-employed for a number of years providing custom hay grinding and cattle and crop spraying services. He also co-managed a Sears Catalogue Sales Merchant store with his wife for 22 years until retiring in 1991.
He was a life-long Republican and elected as the chairman of the Morgan County Republican Party, 1960-66. He had many interests and was active in Colorado Farm Bureau, a charter member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and served on the governing Session of the United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, creating stained-glass window decorations and reading and keeping up with current events.
Professional Career
During his professional career, john yager has been associated with a number of different fields. He has primarily conducted research in Mathematics education, Pedagogy, Science education and Professional development.
He has also worked with a number of different institutions in the United States and abroad. His most recent role was as the President of the Rutgers Engineering Honors Council, where he enjoyed engaging in a wide range of curricular and extracurricular activities.

Achievements and Honors
During World War II, Yeager flew 64 combat missions, killing 13 enemy aircraft. He also evaded capture and crossed the Pyrenees into neutral Spain, where he later flew as a civilian test pilot.
Upon his return to the Air Force in 1956, Yeager led the Air Force Aerospace Research Pilots School to train pilots for space. Nearly half of the astronauts who served in the Gemini, Mercury and Apollo programs were graduates of this school.
Yeager was one of the few Air Force officers who climbed from enlisted man to general. He served in several different roles during his military career, including the defense of Pakistan and as U.S. representative to the United Nations. He was awarded the Congressional Silver Medal in 1976.

He was a dedicated family man who leaves behind a devoted wife of 66 years, Dorothy (nee Williams) Yager; son, John Yager Jr. of Metuchen; five daughters: Pamela Pelley of Metuchen, Roxie Biro of Toms River, Bonnie Chu of Toms River, Shelley Windos of Metuchen and Lisa Amoroso of North Brunswick; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
