Younes is an Australian actor who has appeared in a number of Australian shows. He made his debut in the City Homicide tv series and has also starred in Tangle and Home and Away.

He is co-founder and chief operating officer at Litmus Automation, a company that brings together device connectivity and data intelligence in a single Industrial Edge Data Platform. They offer rapid-to-deploy and easy-to-use solutions that can be bundled with an IoT gateway for complete Industry 4.0 integration.

Early Life and Education

John was born in Connecticut and grew up in the New York City area. His father had a long career in biochemistry and toxicology, so the family moved around often when he was young.

He eventually settled in New Orleans where he earned an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, then went on to complete a graduate degree at Tulane. He is now a neuroscience and international relations double major, considering a career in public service.

One of his favorite activities is watching the night sky, especially when he lives in a city with an impressive skyline. He also enjoys reading science fiction novels and playing the guitar. The best part about his life is that he gets to travel the world with his wife, Alison.

Professional Career

John Younes is an accomplished professional athlete who has competed in numerous tournaments across the world. He is a five-time singles winner on the ATP Tour and reached his career high ranking of world number 14 in March 2003.

Younes’ work is vital to the field of computational anatomy, where he has pioneered models that enable researchers and clinicians to better interpret medical imaging data for the detection and treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cardiac disease, mental illness and other diseases. He is a member of the Center for Imaging Science at JHU and leads a research team studying the statistical properties of image analysis, deformation analysis and shape recognition, and Markov Random Fields, which are mathematical tools that can model and make inferences about image data.

Achievements and Honors

For his work in image deformation and warping, Younes has been a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (NSRI) Grant. His computational shape analysis tools are helping doctors and scientists understand 3D imaging and better treat brain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Younes was also recognized as a Tulane University Scholar and Jeff Ubben Posse Fellow. He conducted a conversation with Congressman John Lewis as part of the fellowship.

Personal Life

The Lebanese-Australian actor has a long and storied love life. He’s been in several relationships, including one with model Sarah Budge that lasted two years and led to the birth of their first child, Elvis.

Younes is also known for his charity The 10 Challenge, which involves running 10km every day to raise money for mental health awareness. He’s also a fan of South Korean survival drama Squid Game and pops on an episode of Seinfeld whenever he needs a laugh.

Younes is currently starring in a biographical series about a notorious night club owner, which is being produced for Paramount Plus. Designed to tell the story of the legendary John Ibrahim, it will be directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith (Wolf Creek, The Duel). You can stream Last King of the Cross on January 26.

Younes started his acting career in 2011, playing Casey Braxton in Home and Away. He was nominated for the Inside Soap Award for Best Daytime Male Actor.
