Rayden Sherman

Sherman was selected in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by Seattle Seahawks, playing an instrumental role in their victory at Super Bowl XLVIII by recording three combined tackles and two pass deflections.

Mr. Sherman was born March 30th 1988 in Compton, California to Beverly and Richard Sherman who instilled hard work and reliable learning as the keys to his success along with those of his older sibling Branton and younger sister Krystina.
He attended Dominguez High School, where he excelled as a standout defensive back, earning himself a scholarship to Stanford University and graduating with a 4.2 GPA, earning the title Male Student of the Year.

At Stanford, Sherman distinguished himself as an outstanding two-sport first team athlete by winning national track and field titles as well as playing cornerback on both football and track teams – even leading in receiving during his freshman year of football!
Even with his excellent physical attributes, many NFL scouts questioned his fluidity in coverage. Yet despite this doubt, the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the fifth round of their 2011 Draft.
Sherman started in Super Bowl XLIX for Seattle against New England and recorded five combined tackles and deflected two passes en route to receiving an 86.7 grade from Pro Football Focus.
On March 10, 2019, he signed a four-year, $57.5 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers and made his debut during Week 1 against Tampa Bay Buccaneers by intercepting Jameis Winston’s pass and returning it 37 yards for a touchdown return.

He was part of the Legion of Boom that allowed only 332 passing yards during Super Bowl 50 and helped lead Seattle to their inaugural championship victory. During that game, he recorded two tackles combined and deflected or intercepted one pass thrown by Colin Kaepernick to ensure victory was sealed for their side.
