She served 19 years as a trustee at Far Hills Country Day School and is dedicated to equity and justice initiatives within education. Currently she sits on Oliver Scholars Board of Trustees as an active volunteer. Oliver was honored with both the Eleanor S. Morris Distinguished Service Award from North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators on a state level and Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators on a regional level for her outstanding contributions in student financial aid administration. She regularly presents at national, regional and state conferences to stay current and connected within the student financial aid community.
In 2022, she received the Campaign Female Frontier Awards which recognize inspiring women leaders. She is widely-respected business leader who prioritizes building an employee-first culture at her agency.
Sharon Oliver, wife and mother, lives in Flintville, Tennessee and is a member of both the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. Additionally, Sharon regularly presents at national, regional and state conferences as a presenter to stay current within the financial aid community.
She has an interest in aviation as well as being a pilot herself; in 1970, she co-piloted a Piper Comanche aircraft to win the Powder Puff Derby competition.
