Early Life and Education
Steven Salzman was raised in New York City, with frequent museum trips a regular activity. Inspired by geometric abstraction and works by artists like Ellsworth Kelly and Jasper Johns, Steven decided to become a painter himself. To prepare himself he attended classes at Art Students League, Bard College and Hunter College while also serving as studio assistant to Sanford Wurmfeld and Tom Wesselman (seminal colorists). These experiences played a vital role in his learning.
Steven is licensed to practice law in both New York State and federal court of law (Southern and Eastern Districts, 2nd and 3rd Circuits). Steven has extensive experience representing individuals who have suffered personal injuries as a result of accidents or malpractice claims.
Steve Salzman is a partner at London law firm Fieldfisher and leads their media practice, specialising in international distribution, co-production and co-financing transactions. Additionally, Steve provides advice regarding creating professional entities while assuring compliance with tax, business and regulatory issues.
Salzman is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Business Law, Trusts, Estates & Family Wealth Planning, Pension & Employee Benefits Practice Groups. He is admitted to practice before both the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of New York as well as the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Steve is an accomplished runner at Westminster High School and competes both track and cross country. He holds a 4:10 mile time record and has run 2:26 marathons; teaching his athletes that it’s important never to give up and complete every workout or race successfully.

Salzman and his wife enjoy traveling around the globe; together they have visited over 50 countries. He serves on multiple boards that focus on food system justice and climate resiliency issues, including Fresh Future Farm in Charleston – a nationally acclaimed urban farm/grocery store he currently acts as Board Treasurer of.
