Early Life and Education
Erie Otters have announced the signing of 2022 OHL Priority Selection Draft Sixth Round pick Ty Henry from Toronto Red Wings U16 AAA of GTHL. Henry will become part of their defenseman corps immediately following a season with Toronto Red Wings.
Henry became a key spokesman of Virginia’s anti-Federal movement and an influential force during the Stamp Act crisis. His passionate orations convinced burgesses that, by disregarding American liberty, British crown risked following in the footsteps of Julius Caesar under Brutus or Charles I at Cromwell’s hand if it failed to protect American liberty.
Henry declined appointments to both the Supreme Court and federal positions, yet was active in Virginian political affairs. He supported measures designed to provide sufficient revenues for Articles of Confederation-governed national government; conversely, he opposed policies which prioritized creditors over farmers and planters.
Henry has had an illustrious 40-year career. Throughout this period he has appeared in television programs like Summer Season and Tiswas as well as performing on stage and films.
Henry was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and has made numerous guest appearances on television series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC) and The Good Wife (CBS).
He has also appeared in two feature films by Dustin Guy Defa: Person to Person and Crown Heights by Matt Ruskin. Henry also made an appearance in 2018’s Broadway revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s Lobby Hero; for this performance, he was nominated for a Tony Award nomination. From 2019-2021 Henry worked at University of Nebraska as an assistant academic counselor where he led study halls and developed course calendars for student-athletes across baseball, football, cross country running swimming & diving & track and field programs.

Henry is well-recognized for his work across film, television and theater platforms, garnering him several accolades in each. These include Emmy and Academy Award nominations for roles he performed in “BlacK Reel” and “Causeway”, plus nominations for an AAFCA award, Black Reel award and Gotham award nomination.
Henry is a graduate of Colorado State University and now works as the Athletic Academic Specialist for their Mastodon Academic Performance Center. Working closely with golf, soccer, softball and volleyball programs he assists students to improve their test taking abilities, time management and development.
He has long been an ardent supporter of the university, serving as one of its Legacy of Champions members.
Henry is openly gay and lives with his partner in Colorado. A veteran of international football, Henry has competed for Dublin Rebels of Ireland’s premier league competition as well as Perth Curtin Saints and South Eastern Predators in Australia.
He currently works at Purdue Fort Wayne as the Academic Advisor for the Mastodon Athletic Performance Center and works with 150 student-athletes across men’s and women’s golf, soccer, softball and volleyball programs to develop academic skills.
Henry may be widely revered on television, yet some critics have been critical of some of his television work. They’ve accused him of using cold reading techniques that give viewers the illusion they are speaking with ghosts; furthermore they’ve noted his habit of consulting with those already famous for his abilities.
Tyler Henry currently boasts a net worth of $5 Million as of 2023, earning most of his income through his TV show titled ‘Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry’ as well as appearing on other programs such as ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’.
